Metroid Prime 4: Beyond arrives nearly two decades after Prime 3. The question was never whether Retro Studios could make a good game. It was whether they could make one that justified the wait. They have.

Gameplay and Design

The first-person exploration formula is refined to near-perfection. The new world design is interconnected in ways that recall the original Prime's best moments. The visor system gets meaningful upgrades, including a new spectral visor that reveals hidden pathways and enemy weaknesses.

"Prime 4 does not revolutionize the formula. It perfects it."

Performance

On Switch 2, the game runs at a steady 60fps in docked mode at 1440p with HDR. The art direction is exceptional — each planet feels distinct, from bioluminescent caverns to frozen industrial complexes.
