CD Projekt Red has confirmed that the next installment in The Witcher series, codenamed Polaris, has entered full production. The announcement came during the company's quarterly investor briefing, where management revealed that over 400 developers are now assigned to the project.
Scale and Scope
This makes Polaris the largest development effort in CD Projekt Red's history. For context, Cyberpunk 2077 had roughly 350 developers at its peak. The studio has been gradually shifting staff from other projects, including the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, to ramp up production.

Release Window
CD Projekt has not provided a release window, but industry analysts estimate a 2028-2029 launch based on the studio's development timelines. The game is being built on Unreal Engine 5, marking a departure from CD Projekt's proprietary REDengine.
